Creating Harmonious Smiles
Let me apologize in advance…in the office, you may hear me humming a tune or singing along to a song, and it’s not a pretty sound. Even my kids make fun of my voice. It’s not good.
Ironically, I’m very musical and grew up playing in a popular rock band in Washington, DC. I just can’t sing. I am, however, all about the harmony and balance of your face and teeth. That translates to the care and detail I like to provide my patients.
The teeth, bite and smile must match the face, and that is why every case is unique (as is my voice!).
I was born and raised on the East Coast, where I followed in my father’s footsteps and became an orthodontist. My dad and I had a great time practicing together for seven years. I’m fortunate to have learned from one of the best.
After his retirement, I was lucky enough to team up with my wife, Dr. Jill Orchin, and run Orchin Orthodontics for another nine years (yes, we spend A LOT of time together, and she loves it!).
Our plan was to move back to her home state of Minnesota to raise our two boys, and we made our dream come true.
A passion for orthodontics runs in my family, and I’m excited to bring that passion to the St. Croix River Valley. Orthodontics is a team sport—we need to work together to achieve our goals. I will always listen to your thoughts and concerns.
I believe the most important part of our doctor-patient relationship is communication. You can ask me anything, anytime, and I will always be honest with you.
It’s the best way to get the great results I expect. I’ve already been honest about my singing voice…
Board-Certified Smile Expert
Choosing an orthodontic specialist for you or your family can be confusing. We all want the best for you, but we aren't all the perfect fit. So, what makes me different?
I'm not just treating your teeth. Yes, I want you to have straight teeth and a beautiful smile, plus a healthy bite, a functioning jaw, and open airways. But, I also value the relationship formed throughout treatment.
My experience as a teacher, a craniofacial team member, and running a private practice for almost twenty years has taught me that being a successful orthodontist means forging lasting relationships.
I work hard to get to know you and your wants and needs for your teeth and smile. Then, I work hard to get the results you deserve.
I loved practicing and teaching for so many years in my hometown of Washington, DC. I'm proud to be a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics for the past 15 years. This is a distinction very few orthodontists hold.
My wife, Dr. Jill Orchin, and I were voted Top Orthodontists every year by many magazines and colleagues.
We were named the “Face of Invisalign” after successfully treating more than 2500 patients with clear aligners.
We take special pride in being long-time members of the Schulman Group, an invitation-only group of the country's top orthodontic practices. We're thankful for learning from the residents as much as we taught them as faculty at the Washington Hospital Center.
Now that we have moved to the St. Croix River Valley, I can’t wait to share this experience and passion with you as we form a relationship and improve your smile!
Education + Experience
I started as a film major with a literature minor. After college, I worked in various businesses for six years before going to dental school.
I never thought I would leave Washington, DC, so how did I get here?
